Hello
I'm Kate, and this is a bit of the 'boring stuff' about myself, that might help you understand me, and why I do what I do a bit more!
I've spent most of my working life in nurseries, running busy toddler rooms with all the chaos, cuddles and craft disasters you can imagine.
I left when I was due to my first baby, then got pregnant again during covid. So returning to work just wasn't safe, or worth it in-between both maturnity leaves.
I started cleaning a few hours a week, for one of my best friends (who happens to be a successful entrepreneur) and then fell pregnant again!
During one of our chats one day (me moaning about how expensive life is) she suggested setting up my own business, doing what I'm good at, which in her words was "organising and sorting stuff".
And this is when Get it Straight with Kate was born (my fourth baby)
My Story
I live at home with my partner, our three children, and two dogs. Life is messy, loud, and totally hectic, but through my own life experiences and struggles, I learnt how to create systems that actually make life easier.
These strategies started in my nursery days, evolved through motherhood, and now help me, and hopefully you also, to stay on top of everything from washing, storage, to meal planning and managing that mental load.
I studied psychology (a-level and masters) and the deeper I get into this business, the more fascinated I become with how our brains work differently.
I'm not claiming to be an expert, or a know it all, but, some things that come naturally to me, just don't to others. Just like there are people out there (probably reading this, and thinking she could of done with my help) who are experts at tech and creating websites and things, me? I struggle to work my phone!
But where does my passion lie?
Right here, helping burnt out mums like you, find a bit of breathing room.
Whether its decluttering your home, setting up systems, or just having someone in your corner, cheering you on, I'm here to help, not to judge.
Why virtual and not in person?
onestly, at first it was because it worked better for my family situation. However, the more people I help the more amazed I am at how magical it all is.
So why not give it a try?
We'll take it step by step. No overwhelm. Just practical support and a whole lot of heart
What's the worst that can happen?
Things might actually get better!
